I had a fantastic experience at this local ice cream shop! The ice cream was absolutely delicious — rich, creamy, and full of flavor. Found Swirls when looking for local soft serve. The reviews were correct--this place is an incredible hidden gem. The soft serve was delicious but the scooped ice cream were even better. Unique flavors sourced locally and absolutely delicious! The employees were very helpful and friendly. We'll absolutely be back!

My family and I are big ice cream fans, and we found this locally-owned mom and pop ice cream shop while on vacation—we’re so glad we did! The staff (a great group of friendly teens along with the owners) welcomed us warmly and offered generous samples to help us decide from the huge selection of flavors. The shop itself is clean, inviting, and has plenty of seating, which made it easy for our family to relax and enjoy. We tried a scoop of key lime pie (amazing!), a milkshake (my husband’s a milkshake snob and loved it), and a soft serve cone (my son said it’s the best he’s ever had—and that’s saying something!). The variety, quality, and customer service here are top-notch. We’ve got great ice cream back home in Ohio, but this place tops them all. We’re planning return visits before our vacation ends so we can try more flavors and menu items. Frederick is lucky to have this gem of an ice cream shop! Highly recommend!

Awesome spot for vegan ice cream! Lots of fun flavors and sundae creations. The owners are super friendly and went out of their way to explain all the vegan options. Will definitely be back!

This place is amazing. Highly recommended! Staff is super nice and the quality is excellent! I got two milkshakes and both of which did not disappoint. Please give this place a try if you haven’t already, Their ice cream will knock your socks off of your feet.

What a gem of an ice cream shop I discovered tonight!!!! Swirls Ice Cream is owned by a husband and wife whose dream it was to have their own ice cream shop! ( How cute is that?!) The owners were so nice too! They explained to me that the ice cream is a special premium ice cream and even though I had soft serve instead of regular ice cream, it was the best soft serve I've ever had. I could really tell the difference in the quality. I absolutely love supporting a local business! I can't wait to come back and try their regular ice cream flavors. I hope the Frederick community comes out to support them!

Loved it! First time trying this ice cream shop and it was great! The owners are super friendly and welcomed us as soon as we walked in. They offered us several samples and were patient while we decided. Everything we tried was so good. Definitely will be back again!! Go check them out!!!

My granddaughter and I walked in and were immediately greeted by the owner. It was our first visit. There are so many choice it took us several minutes to choose. The owner and his son answered every question with patients and care. We chose to dine in. I had a rootbeer float that was so good. She had something that I had never heard of and thoroughly enjoyed it. The owner came over to the table and chatted with us. It was a truly wonderful experience. It will be the place I recommend to all my friends.
